The David Hadfield Charity Shield
Each new PCSL season opens with The David Hadfield Charity Shield in memory of our former Chairman who sadly passed away in 2014 following a battle with motor neurone disease.
David (pictured left) joined the PCSL committee as Chairman in 2009 and served for five years before being forced to retire due to his worsening condition. He will always be fondly remembered for his professional attitude, sharp sense of humour and drive to help the League succeed.
The Shield was donated by David's family and is often presented by David's wife, Tina. It is played for at the start of each season between the Premier Division Champions and the winners of the Peter Shaw Trophy.

The Original Charity Shield
The Original Charity Shield
The now retired original Charity Shield was played for from 1968 right up to 2013 before it was replaced with the David Hadfield Memorial Shield.
Often the Shield had to be shared between the two teams if scores ended level after 90 minutes but in modern times we have decided the winner with penalty kicks.
The winners of the trophy between the 1993/94 season and 2001/02 was not recorded. If you can help with missing information please contact the League Secretary chogan1967@gmail.com
